20 October 2013 Today Esperanza has announced that it will be taking a stall in a Vide Grenier sometime after Christmas. To donate items for sale please use the form on the site.

Hello friends

I am pleased to inform you that we raised a magnificent total of 255 Euro at the Vide Grenier on Sunday and other amounts are still being donated. Thanks to the lady who raided her piggy bank and gave us all her loose change and to the couple who couldn't brave the hale stones and donated.

19 March 2013 Today our President, Chris Wilkinson, announces the success of the Vide Grenier held in Redon, Brittany, France.

Many thanks to those who supported the cause by donating items for sale and to those who turned out in atrocious weather to buy from us. Standing on damp concrete under a leaky roof in a former boat warehouse is not the way I normally spend my Sundays but it was in a good cause.

Apologies to those people who offered us goods but were just too far away for us to collect.

If you wish to donate you can do so by using PayPal on our web site http://esperanza2006.org  We now have a UK Bank account with Barclays and I will supply details on request.  Or you could this spring and summer organise an event for us.  We will be happy to come along and tell your guests about our charity.

11 March 2013 Today we have received this letter from Tom Ngobi who is the Principal of the school in Uganda we are supporting at the Vide Grenier in Redon on 17th March.

Dear Friend,

God created us and put us in this beautiful world to enjoy it. Today, there are so many challenges that hinder many people especially the children in developing countries like Uganda who live in slums like Bwaise where Outspan school is found; that do not know the meaning of happiness because many of them have lost their parents to chronic diseases such as AIDS, Cancer, Diabetes, and malaria.

The only way of helping such orphan children to live a happy and meaningful life is by helping them to identify their potential, develop their talents so that they can use the talent to live a meaningful, health, happy and self-reliant life."

It is therefore you and I that believe in protecting and promoting the plight of children that we should together look for resources that will help our less fortunate orphan and other vulnerable children get their talents developed for a sustainable life.

We therefore call upon all people/organizations/companies or Scout Groups in France to to come to our rescue and support Esperanza's efforts in helping raise funds for the School Scouts Troop Brass Band Instruments and Uniforms.

Thank you for answering our appeal.

All the best,

Your friend in the service of less fortunate children in Bwaise Community.

Tom Maxwell Ngobi.
